Construction of Thistle Springs Ranch has begun! Dirt is being moved today to prepare the site in accordance with our landscape designer’s above layout. Join me as we walk through the plan and share our vision for some of the ways Thistle Springs can be utilized to become the perfect venue for your special day!

After a scenic drive deep into the Texas countryside, guests will arrive at the barn and park directly across from the entrance or have a valet park their car for them. Your guests will stroll past the main entrance and be met with refreshments in the courtyard. They will then proceed to the lakeside behind the barn.

With tranquil sunsets, the gentle slope to the lake is the perfect setting for seated guests. Our custom altar and arbor made of gnarled native cedars, harvested from the ranch, frames the backdrop for your ceremony. After the knots are tied, guests will enter the barn for the reception and await the arrival of the bride and groom from our balcony.

For a more whimsical bride, a secondary ceremony site could be a petal laced grass path through the cedar arbor which frames the courtyard. Chairs can be set up on the grassy terrain facing the rolling hills, trees and antique windmill. For larger events this area off the courtyard is also perfect for adding floored, climate-controlled clear tents to house a more formal dinner before guests head into the barn to dance!

With Texas weather having its own reputation, ceremonies can be held inside the barn while still maintaining the full view of the lake and rustic dairy barn with our many windows and glassed French doors. Following the ceremony, the barn can be quickly rearranged for dinner and dancing.

And this isn’t all! While most brides miss the arrival of their guests, Thistle Springs is set up to where the bridal party can see guests arrive from the privacy of the second story dressing room! The groom and his buddies are also privy to what’s happening from their private exterior balcony.
